Unison local government strike ballot to go ahead

According to first reports, the Unison local government Service Group Executive today, Thursday 13 September, has voted to go ahead with the ballot for strike action against the 2.475% pay offer called by the NJC early in September.
There were moves to shelve the ballot, but they were defeated.
As we understand it, the ballot will start early in October, and two days’ strike action is pencilled in for between 14 and 20 November.
